public school system . . .

            With the founding of the Pitt County Female Institute in the mid 1800's, Farmville took the lead in providing excellence in education. That tradition continues today. Farmville's unique four-school campus, which provides shared resources and a quality educational environment for grades K-12, is at the forefront of the nationwide movement to create "neighborhood schools."

            The Farmville Area Coming Together for Schools (FACTS) organization is a broad based initiative that supports and enhances the educational process. The recipient of numerous awards, FACTS has been recognized by the Governor for its innovative Reading Rescue Program.
