Bring your chairs and your appetites to this year’s July 4th celebration on the Walter B. Jones
Town Common.  The American Legion will be on hand to sell hotdogs and Jones Fruit Farm will have homemade ice cream on sale for dessert.  The Tar River Band will entertain from the gazebo, the Republican Women of Pitt County will have offer flags and patriotic items, and a Woodman of the World representative will hand out patriotic favors to the kids.  The festivities begin at 6 pm with the band playing until 9 o’clock.  And after dark - the fireworks begin!
